Abstract

Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the behaviors and skills of people with disabilities regarding searching, accessing, and using information in both traditional and digital forms. It also measured the study sample's preference for online searches, their reliance on search strategies, and identified the necessary technologies and programs to enable them to access information. Using a descriptive and analytical approach, the study yielded several results, most notably that the largest proportion of the sample, representing 364 individuals (93.3%), preferred using the internet instead of traditional sources and printed materials. The study also revealed that more than half of the study sample, representing 60.5%, did not rely on a specific, clear search strategy to obtain information. Therefore, the study recommended raising awareness among individuals with visual and hearing disabilities about the concept of search strategies to obtain information more accurately.
