Abstract

This study aims to highlight the significant role of emerging technology applications, such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, the Internet of Things, and other advanced digital tools, in supporting the development of sustainable smart academic libraries. It seeks to provide a comprehensive and strategic vision for integrating these technologies into all aspects of library operations. This includes the design of a smart and sustainable infrastructure, the implementation of an integrated library system to manage internal functions such as collection development, cataloging, and technical processing, as well as the integration with a variety of smart technologies to ensure the provision of innovative and user-centered services. These services are intended to enhance the library's role in serving the academic community, supporting both educational objectives and scientific research. The study adopts a qualitative, descriptive methodology to investigate and analyze published literature, aiming to explore the potential opportunities, identify key challenges, and propose practical and effective solutions to overcome these obstacles.
