Professor Dr. Muhammad Jarnaz: One of the pioneers of libraries and information in Libya and the Arab world
Professor Dr. Muhammad Jarnaz, who is considered one of the most prominent pioneers of libraries and information in Libya and the Arab world (1948-2024), contributed diligently and sincerely to the process of Arab libraries and information as a professor, researcher, writer, and administrator. This study seeks to provide a brief overview of his educational, employment, and professional career, as well as an analysis of the most prominent features of his intellectual production, which amounted to 45 articles, all written in the Arabic language and published in the period from 1978 to 2023 in seven Arab countries, most notably his country, Libya. This intellectual output includes magazine articles at a rate of 55.56%, conference studies at a rate of 22.22%, books at a rate of 17.78%, then parts of books and university dissertations at a rate of 2.22% each. Despite the diversity of topics on which Dr. wrote. Muhammad Jarnaz, but his interest was focused on the issue of manpower: planning and qualification, as well as the technical processes that include building collections, indexing and classification. In addition to this, he presented biographies of the Libyan Berbers and the scholars and sheikhs of the Nafusa Mountains in Libya.
