Report about the 2nd International Conference of the Omani Association for Libraries and Information : "Information Institutions and Digital Content".

The Omani Association for Libraries and Information held its second international conference in Muscat on February 27th and 28th, 2023, under the title "Information Institutions and Digital Content". The conference was held under the patronage of Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dweiyani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of nearly 400 participants from researchers, specialists, and those interested in the field of libraries, information, and archives from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman. The conference included 26 papers and studies presented during the conference events under its six scientific sessions, in addition to the opening and closing sessions. The sessions discussed the status of digital content industry with discussion of its related issues and challenges, especially in Arabic digital content with presentation for some experiences. The conference also had an exhibition that included the recent developments in the field of libraries and information in this regard, especially the latest technologies, services and products related to libraries and information such as robots and 3D printers. The conference concluded with a set of recommendations that aims to increase the representation rate of Arabic digital content, especially in scientific publishing fields, with the necessity of working on preparing Arabic standards to regulate the quality of Arabic digital content.
