Abstract

Knowledge retrieval is an advanced stage of retrieval after data retrieval and information retrieval. While information retrieval systems provide a list of documents and sources that answer the beneficiary’s inquiries so that he can refer to those sources to reach the information he wants, we find that knowledge retrieval systems are different because the original content is to provide the same content that the beneficiary is looking for and not documents, they answer him Directly about his inquiry, because some knowledge retrieval systems do not collect data about documents and save them in databases for retrieval when needed, but rather collect content, make sure of its accuracy, organize it and save it in knowledge bases, then the system provides that content to the beneficiary upon his request. The book aims to provide an integrated presentation of knowledge retrieval in six chapters. Hence, the importance of this book is clear; Where it reviews in six chapters the most prominent developments in the field of knowledge retrieval, starting with the definition of it and its types, passing through the methods of knowledge representation, applications of artificial intelligence, knowledge retrieval in light of big data and web mining until knowledge retrieval in the deep web
